Lemon Sweet Tea

By The Petite Plantation - October 15, 2018

If you had an extra $1100 this year, what would you you spent it on? Think about this for a second, would you stash it in savings, spend it on a vacation you desperately need, or pay of a credit card? What would you do!?

If we buy a $3.00 coffee each day for a year, we would have spent $1095 perfecting someone else’s coffee making skills instead of our own.

‘The easiest way to save money is not to spend it’ - my friend, and soul sister, while at the beach. This was a truth bomb I need to hear after transitioning into tiny living and buying many convenient coffees rather than adjusting to tiny coffee making. It’s such a simple truth bomb, but a good one.

So right now, I’m bringing you a super easy Lemon Sweet Tea recipe that you can whip together yourself and bring with you! And you get extra metaphorical points if you use a ball jar, cause they’re adorable and reusable!

I have been drinking black tea as long as I can remember but recently learned how amazing it is for your body! Black tea has high in polyphenols which are basically antioxidants on crack and my favourite thing! Antioxidants are incredibly important because they throw themselves under the bus and attach  to free radicals. And if you haven't heard of free radicals, they are what cause abnormal cells in your body which can then turn into the Big C. So basically, black tea can reduce inflammation, are great for your veins, and give you antioxidants! (Source)

I love adding Certified Pure Therapeutic Oils to my Sweet Tea recipe because it gives it a wellness punch! For instance, if you are feeling a little green, use Ginger Essential Oil. If you need an immune boost, use OnGuard Protective Blend or if you’re throat is bothering you, use Lemon Essential Oil!
These oils NEED to be Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade though, all the others have preservatives, fillers or additives from cheap distillation practises. If you want to get the pure stuff, click here!

You’ll need:

An adorable Ball Jar, I make 32oz at a time
Warm water
2 tea bags
Honey to taste
2 drops of CPTG Lemon Essential Oil

It’s so simple, I fill my jar 3/4 full of warm water, add the tea bags, squirt in honey and add drops of essential oils and shake it! Once the colour starts to change and the honey has dissolved, I top with ice. I leave the tea bags in!
